story – Raghunath Shastri was a friend of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Both were close friends since childhood. Both were very learned. One day the two friends were sitting in a boat crossing the river Ganges.

In those days, Caitanya Mahaprabhu had written a Nyaya Shastra using all his knowledge and experience with great penance. While traveling, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu thought that I should consult my friend on this jurisprudence. He told Raghunath Shastri, ‘Brother, read this scripture. I have written very heartily. I am sure that it will be read a lot and it will get a lot of fame as well. If there is any deficiency in it, a scholar like you will overcome it too. ‘

At the behest of a friend, Raghunath Shastri started reading that book. While reading, tears started flowing from Shastriji’s eyes. Chaitanya said, ‘Friend, what is the matter? Why are you crying? Have I made a mistake?

Shastriji said, ‘Chaitanya, you probably do not know, I too have written a treatise on the subject of justice after a lot of hard work. I have also thought that many people will read my book and it will become very famous. It will also give me fame. After years of penance, my book is complete, but after reading your scripture, I came to understand that my book is nothing in front of your book. Your book is the Sun and my book is like a small lamp. ‘

Chaitanya Mahaprabhu said, “It is just such a thing.” Saying this, Chaitanya lifted his book and swept it into the river Ganges.

Learning This feeling of another friend towards one friend gives us the message that our fame, our fame should not be above our personal relationships. By our ability we will get a lot in the world. But, when a personal relationship like husband-wife, brother-brother or friendship is to be maintained, then competence should not be given much importance. Chaitanya Mahaprabhu gained a lot of fame even after this. Ability is with you throughout your life. That is why do not ignore relationships because of merit. The relationship should not deteriorate due to merit.
