  • While traveling by rail, one of Gandhiji’s slippers fell down, then he also threw the other slipper down.

story- Mahatma Gandhi gave a new thought to the loss. Gandhiji was very vigilant even in small matters. Once they were traveling by rail. When the train stopped at a station, Gandhiji came down for some time. At that time, where they used to go, there used to be a crowd of people who met them.

Gandhiji was surrounded by crowds and the train started. Gandhiji immediately came out of the crowd and climbed into his compartment while walking fast. However, while climbing in the compartment, one of Gandhiji’s slippers fell down the middle of the tracks.

Standing at the gate of the compartment, Gandhiji started thinking. Everyone around was watching them. Gandhiji dropped his second sandal there too. Then someone asked them, ‘Why did you drop your other slippers too?

Gandhiji said, ‘One of my slippers had fallen and one of my legs had slippers. I thought that the slippers that I have now are of no use and that the slippers that have fallen will not be of any use to anyone. But, if I also drop my other slippers, then whoever gets these two slippers will be useful. Thinking the same, I also dropped another sandal. ‘

Gandhiji thought that our loss has been done, but can anyone else be benefited.

Learning We should also keep our thinking like this. If there is any loss of ours and any of that loss can be benefited, then that work must be done.
