story – There is a story related to Mahatma Gandhi. One day a boy came to him and said, ‘Gandhiji, I also want to serve the country. I have heard from many people, there can be no better medium for serving you. Please give me an opportunity to work with you too. ‘
Gandhiji never sat empty. They looked at the boy and said, ‘Okay. Right now I am spinning wheel. You collect this yarn. That boy did it.
Some utensils were also kept there. Gandhiji told the boy, ‘Clean these utensils too.’ After some time, Gandhiji gave the job of sweeping in the ashram.
In this way Gandhiji was getting the boy to do small things. All these things were not right in the eyes of the boy, but he was doing it with a mindless heart. Three-four days later the boy apologized to Gandhiji and said, ‘I am going now. I will consider what to do next.
Gandhiji asked him, ‘Why are you going?’
The boy said, ‘I am educated. I am from a good family. These things are not right for me, which you are getting me done.
Gandhiji said, ‘I wanted to take this test of yours. People who have to serve the country do not see that the work is small or big. They only work with a sense of service. ‘
Gandhiji loved the Srimad Bhagavad Gita. He used to say, ‘Shri Krishna was very great and knowledgeable to say Gita. Shri Krishna used to do even the smallest tasks with great pleasure. When Yudhishthira became the emperor of Chakravarti, Sri Krishna had raised both the folds of the people at his place. He became Arjuna’s charioteer in the Mahabharata war. The person who does every small work as a service can give knowledge of the Gita. ‘
Learning Those who serve should not differentiate between small and big work.
