- Most parents want their child to be a little better than their neighbor’s children, but this should not be the case.
Today is the birthday of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. It is celebrated as Children’s Day. On this occasion, know from the Sadhguru of Isha Foundation, what should parents keep in mind for the good upbringing of children …
When we were growing up in India, there was an anti-cigarette advertisement. Wrote on, ‘Satisfaction work – scissors. Drink cigarettes and you will be satisfied.’ They were actually saying, ‘This scissors will cut your lungs from within’. But people did not understand this, generations of people continued to smoke.
Today someone is doing another advertisement that if you buy this car, then how will you live happily for the rest of your life. You can smoke cigarettes or you can buy a car, But neither cigarette smokers nor drivers seem happy. Just look at the people on the street. Is bliss in all those people driving their dream car? No. It’s not like that.
I want you to look at one very basic thing. Did you find a job or start a business or do anything else to find happiness?
Did you marry or have children to find happiness? Why?
It is very important for you to understand that you have been searching for an oasis of satisfaction and happiness in your life. but, There is no oasis; It is simply a mrigamarichika. It seems that everything will be satisfied by something, but when you get there, it does not work. Now you want your child to have inner bliss. How will it happen?
You think that there is an oasis somewhere. At times it appears, But there is no oasis outside. If you have ever deceived yourself that there is an oasis of happiness, love or joy somewhere, then after some time you will be deeply disappointed, because all human experiences are born from within.
‘Inner happiness’ There is no such thing. Happiness has always been inner; Not just happiness, Grief is also internal only. Although poets have said, ‘Love is in the air,’ That too is always internal. Everything you experience is from within. It is up to you what kind of experience you create.
If you don’t stop running after the oasis of an oasis, So naturally your children will also find a silly oasis, which does not exist anywhere. You have made them think that everything valuable to a human being is present in the society there – money, wealth, rank, what you collect.
Most parents are only interested in whether their child is slightly better than their neighbor’s children. ‘How many numbers have you got? How much money did you make What is your position in society?’ This is the concern of most parents.
Everyone wants to guide children, Because they think children are the problem. No, children are not the problem. If they look like a serious problem, then you should first look closely at them, because they are just your small form. Your children are a small problem; You are a big problem.
If you want to make your children truly perfect, If you want to follow your children well, the first thing that you should do is be happy. You should show this to them through an example and not through your education.
If the elder transforms himself, So you do not need to worry about children. But if you do not know how to be happy with yourself, then you are definitely not able to teach them how to be happy.
No qualification in education, It is simply to realize that the human experience can only be from within, whether it is happiness or sorrow, satisfaction or dissatisfaction. If you know this one thing well, then you can do whatever you want.
When you know it’s happening because of you, Because of no one else but you, whatever you want to do with yourself is up to you. Your children should also know that what they want to do with themselves is their responsibility.
Transform yourself first. If you have a hilarious life, Then you will see that very little work needs to be done with your child. They will be bigger than good.
