It is believed that there is no shortage of food grains and food in the house. Also, eating home-made food keeps diseases away. By worshiping Goddess Annapurna, there is never a shortage of food and money in the family. Although food should never be disrespected, but special care should be taken on this day. There is never a shortage of money in the house and the grace of the Goddess is always there.

Importance of Annadan on this day
There is a tradition of doing special worship of Goddess Annapurna on the full moon of Margashirsha month. After worship on this day, various types of bhog are made and Naivedya is offered to Goddess Annapurna. It should be followed by Annadan. Needy people should be fed a full meal. By the way, it is a tradition to donate food every day of Margashirsha month. But for some reason, if you are not able to donate food for the whole month in Margashirsha, then giving it on this full moon only gives the result of the whole month.

Lord Shiva had asked alms to mother Annapurna
It is believed that when water and grain started to run out on the earth, there was an outcry everywhere. Then humans worshiped Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva to get rid of the problem of food. Shiva then toured the earth and after this Mata Parvati created Annapurna form and Lord Shiva created the form of a monk.
Lord Shiva took alms from Mata Annapurna and distributed it to the people settled on earth. Since then humans along with all the Gods also started worshiping the mother Annapurna. The day Mother Annapurna appeared, it was the full moon of Margashirsha month. That is why Annapurna Jayanti is celebrated on Margashirsha Purnima. On this day, food donation has special significance.

Worship method
Mata Annapurna is the goddess of food. Therefore, on this day the kitchen should be kept clean and the house should be purified by sprinkling the Ganges water.
After this, worship the cooking stove by burning turmeric, kumkum, rice, flowers, incense and lamps.
After this, worship Goddess Parvati and Lord Shankarji in the kitchen as well.
Worshiping the mother Annapurna in the kitchen itself with the above method, pray that, O mother, there should always be food in our family.
After worshiping, definitely feed the food made in your home to the poor.
