Once Ramakrishna Paramahamsa reached the banks of the river on a walk with his disciple. On the shore they saw some fishermen catching fish. Paramhansa ji asked the disciple to look carefully at these fish trapped in the net.

The disciple saw many fish trapped in the net. The Guru said that there are three types of fish in this trap. The first is those who have agreed that their life is over now. Because of this, they are not even trying to save their lives. The other fish are those who are trying to escape, but are unable to get out of the trap. The third type of fish is the most special, trying to get out of the trap. These fish also managed to get out and have saved their lives and swam away.

Similarly, there are three types of humans. First, there are those who, considering the troubles and sorrows as their fate, are waiting to die in these conditions. Others are those who try to alleviate suffering, but cannot find any path to salvation. The third are those who strive and reach their goals. If we want to reach a goal, we should constantly strive for it. Efforts should be made until success is achieved.
