- Sri Krishna told Arjuna that I have already given this divine knowledge to the Sun before you.
In the first verse of the fourth chapter of Srimad Bhagavad Gita, Shri Krishna tells Arjuna that before you I gave this divine knowledge of Karma Yoga to the Sun. Surya told his son Vaivasvata Manu and Manu told his son King Ikshvaku. In this way this knowledge reached the sages. However, due to the passage of time, this knowledge has disappeared in human beings.
You are my devotee and my friend, that’s why I am giving this knowledge to you again. Hearing these things of Shri Krishna, Arjun asked that you have just been born. Suryadev was born long ago. So I do not understand this, how did you give this knowledge to the Sun God?
Hearing the question of Arjuna, Lord Krishna says that many births have taken place between you and me. I know all those births, but you do not know. I am unborn, indestructible. Whenever religion decreases on earth and unrighteousness increases, then I appear with my yogamaya. I incarnate my devotees, to protect saints and to end sinners.
The devotee who understands my secrets gets my grace and then his soul does not take birth again. Those who stay away from evils like fear and anger, I have special kindness on them. The way a devotee wants my kindness, I am kind to him. Because, all humans follow my own path.
Karma is predominant in human beings. Those who keep doing karma, do not back down from their duties, only they get success. That is why every person should keep doing their deeds. Humans can be benefited by the effects of deeds.
