At the time of the lecture a person got up and started saying, ‘Do you keep saying the same words again and again? What do you put in words? Why do you say the words by rote? Sometimes you will read from a book, sometimes you recite the words of a saint? What is the importance of words?

Everyone present there felt that Vivekananda would explain more thoroughly and explain this person, but what Vivekananda did, everyone was surprised.

Swami Vivekananda looked at the person and said, “You are a fool, you are a fool, you are a boor.”

Everyone was shocked to hear such words from Swamiji’s mouth. The person was already protesting and Swamiji abused her and gave her away.

The man said, ‘Swamiji, you are very scholar. Are knowledgeable, are saints. Such words do not suit your mouth. What are you saying? I am very hurt to hear your words. What have I said that you are abusing me? ‘

Vivekanandji said, ‘What words did I tell you, you got angry. These are just words. I did not hit you with a stone, I did not push you. ‘

All the people present there understood Swamiji’s reason why Swamiji has said abusive words to that person. After this, Swamiji explained to everyone, ‘If abusive words can cause anger, then good words can also become a remembrance of God. That is why the name of God is glorified, because these are all auspicious words. ‘

Learning – This thing of Vivekanandji is giving us the message that by chanting good words, good words again and again, positivity increases. If you take the name of any god, then the mind is relaxed, negativity is removed. That is why in the worship, one should keep chanting the names of God in the hymn.
